Question:

Once an item is disputed and taken off the report, can a creditor submit it again?

if so, do they usually do? and if they don't response back, do they know that its been taken off the report and they still think that its on there?

  1. If it is removed because the creditor did not respond in time, then it can be put back on the credit report when (and if) the creditor does eventually respond and verify the original information.

    If the creditor simply submits the original information again, after it has already been removed, without verifying it, the information is not supposed to go back on the credit report, according to the law, but it often does anyway.

  3. I can tell you from my past... I disputed a credit card from my youth that I was dumb on and stopped paying.  The company didn't respond fast enough and it fell off the report.

    But, this company onyl reports debts of my length every 3 months.  It was reight back on there after that.

    Best bet is to wait the 7 years for it to fall off.  And remember, just because it's on your credit report doesn't mean that you owe it.  Each state has a different statute of limitation regarding unpaid debts.
