We have tons of these spiders that come into the house, we used to catch and release, but they kept comming back inside, so we just started putting them into a large aquarium tank, with sand and fresh grash and stuff. we have been trying to figure out what to feed these critters, they are so large-2-3 inches and so we have been dropping in flys and crickets... the srickets are still there.

When i dropped in a fly, the spider hit it fast, looked like it bit it, but the fly is still alive... how long will it take to die so i can finnaly show my daughter it eating the fly?

  1. 10-15 minutes tops, unless it's what spider people call a dry bite.

  2. Well, it freaks me out a little that you're collecting and feeding pet spiders. Spider venom is 15 times more potent than snake venom, drop for drop. (learned that from a Spider-Man comic) so the fly should have been dead before your question could be posted. Maybe the Oklahoma Wolf Spider has no venom?
