  1. Make sure you are connecting to the router via a network cable, not on wireless at the moment.

go to START / RUN endter CMD and press return

    Enter IPCONFIG press return

    Read off the DEFAULT GATEWAY

Enter THIS address in internet explorer as this IS definately the router.

    Enter admin username and password

    You should be in.

  2. It's difficult to understand what you mean by "once I put it in" but I assume you mean the ID and password? It could be the router is somehow messed up. You might want to try pressing the restart button on the router for 10 seconds. You may be able to access 192.168.0.1 then. Look on the underside of the router, does it have the information for accessing the router's firmware? Sounds like you got the right address with 192.168.0.1. If it's a Netgear router it should have the address, ID and password on the bottom for an example of what I mean. I think it's admin for the ID and password for the password (once you reset).

BTW, for Netgear routers it's 192.168.1.1. I was just giving an example of a router that had the info on the bottom. Not that that's the router I think you have. ;-)

  3. what kind of router
