Once ive downloaded an application how do i add it to my ipod touch?

i added the facebook application for example, and it appears in the "applications" thing on my itunes, but even if i sync my ipod it doesnt appear?

ALSO: can i remove applications like "stocks" that come with the ipod?

no you cannot remove the stocks app or any other native app, only the ones you get from the app store.
