Should I remove my laptop/cell phone from the charger, and then use it until its power is low again. Then charger it again.

  1. It depends on the quality of the charger.  I good one will disconnect when charge is full.  A cheap one will continue charging and cook the battery.

Rechargeable batteries have a memory, meaning they learn how far you discharge them and charge them, and begin to work in that zone which limits their usefulness.  Battery manufacturers say the battery will last longer if you run it completely dead each time before recharging it.

  2. that what manufacturer says b/c they want you to by a new battery but i've been doing and nothing wrong here. so i say don't worry about unplugging them.

  3. both cell phones and laptops have power management systems. they automatically remove the charge current from the battery when not needed. that having been said, unplugging the devices will not harm them either.

  4. Yes it will shorten the battery life.  It's actually best to let your cell phone, cordless phone, etc. run completely dead once a month and then fully recharge.
