I'm a self-proclaimed white-hat hacker, basically an uber-n00b. Anyway, now that I have a (theoretical) user's IP address, how do you gain access to the user's system, aka, files, passwords, things like that. I've seen tutorials and such on the topic, but they leave off on the subject of IP addresses...nothing about what to do after that....help, please?

  1. The IP address is just an address on the Internet.  When you use a human-readable name like www.yahoo.com, a system called DNS resolves this to a number in the form 123.45.81.23; that is , four 8-bit numbers having a decimal value less than 256.

So you use it the same way you would a symbolic name.  Enter 206.190.60.37 in your browser's address window and you'll find yourself (sorta) at Yahoo.

That's all it is. Knowing an IP doesn't get you any farther that the front door.

You can easily look them up. In Windows, open a DOS box and use ping.  For example,

                 ping whitehouse.gov

    will show you [63.161.169.137]

  2. LMAO you should visit a site like progenic and download some programs from the sites given but i think u may need much more exp. to do that 4CHAN!!!! /B/ KEWL
