  1. You get neuropathy because of a DEFICIENCY in B vitamins, not from taking them.

  2. That dose of B-6 is a bit higher than it needs to be, but Jen is right... you get Sensory Neuropathy from a deficiency of B vitamins, not a high dose of them, not to mention the fact that your nerves couldn't be permanently damaged from an overdose of vitamins in just a week. It would take months of taking a double-dose of most any supplement before you would notice anything negative, and most would take more than that.

Besides, B vitamins are water soluble... if your body can't use them, you will just pee them out. I think someone misread something and told you the wrong thing. If it was a doctor that told you that, I would definitely recommend finding a different doctor if he's that far off base. Good luck!

  3. You have to take like say100-200 mg a day over a long period of time (+4month) to get sensory neuropathy so I wouldn't think that is the case....and yes by cutting down the dosage, it's often reversable...

You need to read this. Sensory neuropathy can occur with an overdose or a deficiency of Vitamin B6, but usually in higher doses than what you are taking.  You can check out this link and it will go into more detail.  I would let your doctor know about these symptoms just in case.  (Scroll down the page to the section on toxicity)
