Once you out father unknown on birth cerificate can you alter it after?

i want to know that if u out father unknown on birth certificate can you later it later on and add it?

yes. i do birth certificates where i work. if you opt to leave it off now and want to add him later you can do it two ways.

1. he signs a paternity affidavit. which waves the dna test and he pretty much says yes it's my baby.

2. you have a dna test to prove he's the father and then you add him

Most of the time you can. A DNA test may need to be done though. It just depends on the situation.

in the UK you can not alter a birth certificate but I dont know about elsewhere

Yes. You will have to go through the courts to file a new birth certificate and pay some fees, but it can be done.
