One Blind/Damaged Eyes?

Question

I know that damaged eyes will eventually heal back to normal, but if an eye gets damaged to the point where it goes completely blind, does it still heal back and look normal, yet still be blind? Or, does it never heal up and simply look messed up and leave you with a blind eye?

I've seen an anime once where one character had a scarred eye, but it looked perfectly fine, yet that eye was blind.

So, I'm simply confused.

Not all damaged eyes heal back to normal; it depends on what is wrong.  Many blind eyes look perfectly normal; many "messed up looking" eyes have normal vision.

If your thoughts about what can happen to real people is based on what happens to cartoon characters in a cartoon, I'm not surprised that you are confused.

Yes, if the eye is  not totally damaged, by curing it will eventually heal back to normal.

It all depends on what the cause of the blindness is, what type of damage is present, and the extent of the damage.

An eye can be blind but look very normal.....
