One-Day series counts for little as compared to the Ashes says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AN-Cook-c1026 - Cricket News Update
Current English ODI captain, Alastair Cook, believes that his team’s upcoming One-Day series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 is hardly a substantial evidence to draw conclusions on how both sides will perform in another 12 months when they battle for the coveted Ashes
trophy.
Both team’s will rekindle their battles on the field in the coming days, with the visiting Australian contingent set to take the Ashes’ defending champions in five ODIs, starting from June 29. Many reckon that the result of the series will eventually predict
the outcome of the Ashes’ next year but Cook feels that any such interpretation is misleading.

Coming into the series, the visitors have been in good knick despite being without two of their most senior personnel in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Leicestershire-c807 convincingly; with David

However, English Summer has been drenched by rain, with the Aussies not being able to play a One-off match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 also endured a similar fate in their final ODI game against the Windies.
The English skipper however, said it will be interesting to see how some of the young Australians perform on the tour, who have little knowledge of the conditions.
"It will be great to see some new guys on their team, but it counts for little if you are comparing it to an Ashes," Cook added.

success in opening spot cements the right hander’s position in the team. However, he is taking nothing for granted.
"It's nowhere near job done. For me it was nice to start well and obviously I want to keep playing and batting as much as I can with Cooky at the top of the order and keep trying to get us off to good starts.” said Ian Bell.
