One asks a question to get a bunch of generic answers but have you ever considered...?

or thought about asking only one of the members here on Y/A a question just to see what kind of personal reaction or answer you'll get, one to one?

  1. yeah thats a good idea but what if they cant really help you, i mean thats  why a lot of people should answer sure one of them must be someone who really likes to help. IMO if i think i could help someone by answering their question, and im talking about real help, i answer it with some effort especially when its something from my field of interest and know something about it. not only do i get best answer but it makes me happy when i feel useful

  2. Would it be just their generic answer? So just one generic answer instead of many. People give their personal reaction, normally. Sometimes tempered by what other people have written.

  3. Not really.  When I ask a question, I want all the answers I can get.  If you are asking a question one to one, how would you know the the 'one' knows anything about the subject.  There are other sites where you can get personal...Yahoo groups ect
