One day in Paris?

This time on my way back from Lebanon were thinking of spending a day in Paris. We would arrive at 6AM and depart the next day at 8am. Does anyone know of any inexpensive yet decent hotels close to the Eiffel Tower and some other "must do" things in Paris for the day?

I would say you should take a boat trip along the seine. you can see all of the larger tourist attractions. Visit Notre Dame (the gardens are also close by), Monte Maitre and Sacre Couer and since you'll be there for such a short time instead of the Louvre, visit the Musee D'Orsay (they have mostly impressionist art and sculptures).  Have a wonderful trip!

Yes - boat trip in the evening but dont go on the bateau mouches - too expensive and often too busy.

Take a tour on the smaller vedettes de pont neuf which are much more fun and cheaper. Go after dark if you can - very romantic.

Get on board down a flight of steps off Pont Neuf (one of the oldest bridges over the Seine)
