I'm a dancer and whenever I go into the spotlights and sometimes even the lights when I get pictures and stuff, my left eye shrinks, sometimes I can barely keep it open. My right eye is always normal..is this normal and is there a way to treat it because it really bothers me.

  1. You may have photophobia with your left eye. Photophobia is eye discomfort in bright light. The most obvious way to cope with that is to limit the amount of light that is entering the eye. In your case, tinted contact lenses would be the best solution for you to minimise the light entering the eye and so cut down on the amount of glare you experience when you are in the spotlight. Some people experience light sensitivity without any eye disease. It is still important, however, to have your eyes checked by a professional since there may be some underlying eye disease that hasn’t yet been diagnosed.
