Was there actuly a woman named Katy elder in Tomestone Arizona or was she a entirey ficticous charecter? I am perfectly aware there was a movie"The sons of Katy Elder" so don't jump my case about that.

The Katy Elder is most likley not a real person with 4 sons and what have you But im sure there is A Katy Elder And a Elder Family in southren AZ

That movie was based on a novel and, as far as I can remember (it's been YEARS) Katy Elder was just a fictional character.  John Wayne wasn't exactly known for his documentaries

There was indeed, although she had nothing to do with the John Wayne/Dean Martin film.  "Big Nose" Kate Haroney, aka Kate Elder was an eyewitness to the Gunfight at the OK Corral.  She was also the girlfriend/common law wife of Doc Holliday.  She was an amazing character in her own right; check out the provided links.
