One-game ban helps Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt return from 2nd game – NFL News
Wide receiver Kenny Britt is out of Tennessee Titans’ season opener on September 09 as a result of one-game suspension the National Football League (NFL) has handed to the receiver on violation of the office’s disciplinary rules.
Kenny has escaped a possibility of harsher penalty therefore has decided against appealing the league’s ruling of the game ban. The receiver was punished on the arrest under driving under influence (DUI) charge last month.
He met commissioner Roger Goodell earlier this month and after taken back by the Titans unconditionally there were some hopes that he might be able to avoid getting a severe penalty from the professional league regulator.
One major problem that could have hurt his case was that he had been a subject of violations repeatedly over the past couple of years and it would have been difficult for Roger to let him go unpunished.
He still is lucky to have successfully avoided a possibility of heavy fine or suspension for a higher number of games. One-game ban means Kenny can return to action from second game of the season.
In addition to the off-field disciplinary issues the receiver has also been struggling with injury problems since the last season. He has just returned to the squad after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament
(MCL) injuries.
The Titans took him off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list a couple of days ago, and he appears to be hundred percent and ready to be a part of the team on a regular basis.
Now thanks to the lenient attitude of the regulator he stands a chance to put back his career on track by letting the off-field difficulties behind him. It is crucial for Kenny to stay away from the troubles he has regularly been facing due to his own fault
in the recent past.
For example, at the time of his arrest on DUI he was also accused of attempting to drive through an army establishment, which could have landed him in serious trouble, especially if some sort of security concerns were raised by the army department.
