Question:

One goldfish eating less that the rest?

I have 3 common goldfish. One seems to eat quite a bit less that the other 2. He is slightly smaller than the others. He just seems less interested in the food I think. Other than that, as far as I am aware, he is perfectly healthy. Is there something wrong?

  1. The same as people, fish are different personalities.  I bought 3 red cap oranda's on the same day.  One is huge now, one is smallish and the other died from a swim bladder disorder within a few months.  You'd never know that the 2 I have now were exactly the same size when I got them.

You also know I suppose that 3 common goldfish will need at least 100 gallons to live a healthy life or better yet be kept in a pond.

  3. If he is swimming around fine...and looks healthy...don't worry.

All of my fish act differently, but, if he is hungry he will eat...if not...then he won't.
