I had a friend who smoke marijuana everyday while pregnant and lost the baby at 3 months! Not sure if they were linked to eachother but probably best you don't take the chance! Drugs are illegal for a reason! Just a thought!

My friend smoked while pregnant, the hospital does random drug tests and she almost lost her newborn. The hospital had social workers come and talk to her and the father.

Smoke effects the baby. For everyone who says its fine, that's what they thought about cigarettes in the 50's and 60's.

I was a cigarette smoker and I quit because I was preggo, If weed isn't addicting you could quit easily.

When you start off by saying "your opinions don't count", don't expect to get answers you want. What you want is someone to tell you it's okay for your baby if you smoke - pot or no pot - and you know it's not acceptable and it might even be considered child endangerment. I'm a dad and granddad and THAT is my experience and it tells me that any kind of drug not approved by your pediatrician is a no no.

You have got to be kidding?! Do you realize that it ALL passes through you into your baby? Do you want him/her to be high in the womb? What kind of selfish woman are you? If you can't stay off pot while you're pregnant, then you are terribly addicted to it and you need help immediately if not for you than for your baby. No one is going to have personal experiences since very few people are so selfish as to care so little of their child that they can't stay away from pot! Get help NOW!!!

Please tell me you are NOT serious? First you say our opinions don't matter, yet you're asking a question in a public forum..which is a contradiction..then the question you're asking is just unbelievable! I am currently pregnant with my 3rd child, and I am appalled that you are asking if it's okay to smoke marijuana while pregnant? NO it's not okay, and that's MY opinion. You need to educate yourself...and stop being selfish, there is a life inside of you, and that person deserves better!

i personally quit smoking during my pregnancy. im doing everything i possibly can to keep my baby healthy and safe. i look at it like would you blow a puff of smoke in your newborns face? if not then you really shouldnt smoke becuase thats basiclly what your doing.

my cousin smoked during her pregnancy and her baby came 6 weeks early and only weighed 4 pounds. she had to be hospitalized for a little while but now shes doing just fine.

the only responses that you will get one this site are opinions.  My cousin smoked it the entire time she was pregnant with all of her children and two are perfectly normal.  one is slightly mentally disabled and we will have to see with the 4th baby she is due in january.  personally I don't think that one hit will do anything but then again you can take just one drink of alcohol and have a baby with fetal alcohol syndrome so could be a bad thing.  honestly I would ask your doctor about it.  there is nothing that they can do but lecture you about being irresponsible which by the way would be a correct assumption if you think it is okay to smoke MJ while pregnant.

Weed is actually a good way of getting rid of morning sickness. It is a herb and will not hurt your baby and will not hurt you. Just dont do it all the time and only one hit to help get rid of morning sickness and you will be fine. Dont listen to all the idiots on here saying it will cause you to miscarriage and everything else.

Actually, these people on here are being a$$holes.  My doctor, and MANY MANY others I know will tell you that they would WAY rather have you smoke pot than cigarettes any day of the week.  I am pregnant, and have smoked pot, my roommate smoked pot for 7 months of her pregnancy every day, and just had her baby last week.  It is a beautiful healthy baby girl that weighed 7 pounds and 1 ounce.  The pot was the only thing that helped her eat regularly.  She did quit for the last 2 months due to CPS because they DO get involved, especially if the child has pot in there blood stream.  Hers, didn't have any trace what so ever and her doctor even knew all about it.  I have that doc as well.

Don't let people talk s**+ t to you on subjects they obviously know nothing about.  Just let them look like idiots, thats what I do.

I can understand the asker wanting experiences, but i really don't feel the the answerer's have a right to be calling each other a$$ holes, and idiots.

Furthermore, it doesn't matter how you try and justify it, you should always expect nasty answers when you talk about drugs, and an unborn baby is in the picture. But, I'd wager good money this was just to stir up everyone anyway.

But as for your actual question, here's MY experience:

I've never done 'weed' and refuse to believe it is BENEFICIAL during pregnancy.

Plus, how would your kid feel knowing that it's mother 'smoked weed' while pregnant? Classy!

If you do any kinds of drugs or alcohol during pregnancy, you're not fit to carry a child or be a mother. You shouldn't take drugs to begin with, but to take them during pregnancy is very stupid and selfish. I think women who do this do not deserve the right to have the blessing of motherhood.

well there isnt any medical research that says marijuana is harmful during pregnancy but there is still a chance the effects of the drug can put your baby on high lol and may damage the nervous or respritatory system[just like cigaretts]...please dont do it everyday BUT maybe every once in awhile ya kno?

are you talking about one hit a day? Marijuana doesn't affect your child, there have been no effects proven by any studies, the smoke only affects your lungs, not theirs, and there aren't any long term affects of weed-no, it doesn't kill brain cells, there have been many studies on this, there was also one done by a university that says it help improve memory functions (even in the baby too).....I'm not condoning thins, you still shouldnt do it. These are just studies, none of this is written in stone. If you have to smoke every day, while pregnant, that means you have an issue....You should at least be able to stop while youre pregnant....Marijuana is unlike other drugs, it doesn;t change your brain chemistry when you do it, and getting high from it is an allergic reaction, and no it is not like blowing a puff of smoke in your baby's face, and they do no get high in the womb. People are ignorant and like to give their opinions and sh*t on something they no nothing about.

I don't think you will get any 'personal experiences' as it's not exactly a normal thing to do during pregnancy so I'll waste my time and tell you that you need to stop smoking this stuff straight away for your own health and the unborn child's. I gave up cigarettes as soon as I found out I was pregnant and it wasn't hard, I've also smoked pot in the past and found it made me paranoid, moody and gave me a terrible chest as soon as I gave up all this stopped so for the sake of your unborn child please try your best to give this up. You obviously know it's wrong so why ask the question (which isn't really clear anyway).
