  1. One month in the Philippines, I'm jealous.

October is however touch-and -go with sea conditions if you are hopping islands.  Always leave a few days time buffer.  If you were more specific about what you want to do (diving, fishing, partying, a bit of each, etc.) and you mode of transport people could help more.

I personally would start in Puerto Galera and party and dive for a few days, then arrange a boat to Pandan Island on the West Coast of Mindoro for a few days, dive a bit and just hang out.  Then I would do an Apo reef dive on a day when both Pandan and Club Paradise are diving there, and would continue on with the Club Paradise Boat to Busuanga.

Depending on budget I would spend a night in El Rio y Mar or Vicky's (small inn in Decalchau), and go to Coron on the next day by jeepny.  I would then spend a night or two in Coron, a night or two in Sangat, then Popototan (Coral Bay), and Conception.

Depending on how much time you have left I would then either fly to El Nido for a few days and back to Manila from there, or just go back to Manila from Busuanga.

I have two other good alternative combos going throught the visayas, but it all depends on your mode of transport and budget.

  3. Bring an ATM card and at least one credit card.  Little cash, only enough for a few days at the time.  First timers to the country, females and non-Filipinos should never "wander" alone in the country,  except in well-secured areas, and don't go anywhere on a lark; always know exactly where you are and who to call if you get into trouble or become last.

Other than that, the following are interesting and fairly convenient places to see and experience:

    Luzon Island: Metro Manila, Corregidor

    Visayas: Boracay, Cebu City

    Mindanao: Davao City

    Palawan Island

  4. Thats good advice from Buwisit.  Try to work Bohol in on your schedule its near Cebu.

  5. Accommodation in Manila... The cheapest!
