  1. Hi Texas Girl!

You shouldn't have any problems as long as you travel smart.  There's a safe in your room, so take advantage of it.  Once you're on board put your travel documents, passport/ID, traveler's check, cash, extra credit cards, jewelry, and any other valuables in the safe and keep them there.  If you take something out of your safe, don't forget to close it back up.

You will only need cash on board if you're going to the casino - everything else will be charged to your room account and you pay for that on the last night with credit card, check, or cash.

If possible use only one credit card for all your cruise expenses that way you have a record of all you expeditures while on the cruise and if you need to look up something after you return, you won't be checking several statements.  Take along an ATM card and, if you need more cash you can get it in port, or at the ATM on board.  There's probably a $5-$10 fee for using the ATM, but you only have to use it for cash when you need it and you shouldn't be making daily withdrawals.

Hope this info helps.  You'll have a great time.  Bon Voyage!

  2. I'd say the chance of theft on a cruise line is about the same as staying in a hotel.  It can happen, it perhaps does happen, but it doesn't happen that often.  They keep a close check on which maids go into your cabin, and guests would have to actually break in to steal stuff.  On my last cruise they had a safe in the room.  I really wouldn't worry about it.  Just don't leave very valuable items lying around the cabin unattended in plain view.

  3. I have never had anything stolen on my cruises.  I make sure that I keep my wallet and valuable in the safe in the stateroom.

  4. I don't know, but don't quit asking questions. That was a good one and I am sure you have more.
