Question:

One of Colbert's more reasonable suggestions...airlines charging people by weight!!! Is this a good idea?

Could be good for the nation. Kids already are cheaper for the most part. And it's rational...the more pounts you weight, really does increase the jet fuel expended, and costs airlines more money. You can avoid the scale, only by paying for the highest weight of say 400 pounds.

  1. It'll do no good because you forget the surcharges for extra baggage beside the first bag. You're forgetting the extra fuel charges now in place or being adopted. Besides, weight of the passenger alone is not the only culprit of jet fuel consumption. The atmosphere is the other culprit with storms sidetracking the flight or the jet stream flowing against the destination of the plane. Colbert will not be a good secretary of transportation.


  2. No.  I would open the door to discrimination suits.  AND...no more online booking!

  3. yeah i dont think so...and what they should do is charge for those babies on planes..make them take a seat for the kid..cut down on alcohol being stored on the plane and served there goes some more weight
