One of my best friends won't talk to me anymore. ?

It all has to do with the fact that my bf of 4 years has said that he has no interest in hanging out with any of my friends because he feels like I humiliated him by telling them he got mugged. He backed out of being my date to a wedding because this has upset him so much. She feels insulted that he refuses to come to events with us anymore. I can understand his viewpoint. He's still upset about what happened to him and he doesn't want people to know about it or question him. My friend takes it as a personal insult. I'm not sure what to do about it. I explained to her that he likes spending time with her, as well as my other friends. He's just embarassed. What do I do to get my friend back?

Maybe you shouldn't have told your friends about the mugging...that's kind of private so I understand where he is coming from.  He may have post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  It happens when someone has experienced a life threatening or terrifying experience.  Look at the link I posted and read up on it so that you are aware of what he is experiencing and then put him in touch with this information so he can read about it himself.  Then you be patient and let him deal with it in his own time.

As far as your friend goes, you gotta tell her that she really needs to grow up.  Your guy is dealing with an emotional problem and if she sees it as an insult then she is being selfish and rude.  I'd be pissed at her instead of the other way around.

Well, if she's really your best friend, she'll understand things from your view point. I suggest giving her time to cool down, when this matter has passed for quite some time, bring up the subject to her again and explain to her. Tell her to act more maturely and to put herself in your boyfriend's shoes.

this is a situation when you'll see who your friends really are, whoever is by your side in the end is a true friend (or boyfriend).

First what you should do is talk to your bf and try to get him to hang with your friends again, and if that does not happen then it comes to a point of which matters to you most. If you gonna let a guy come between you and your friends then that shows how much of a friend you are. Its all your call at the end of the day.
