  1. You should get a belled collar for your cat (they aren't expensive) that way birds can hear them coming.

  2. Awww, I hope you find out before it is too late. I really hope that the answer is that the c**k feeds them.

Good luck. (sorry I didn't have an answer)

  3. It's sad, but cats kill many millions of birds in the UK each year. The c**k will continue to feed them, but won't be able to get as much food to them as a pair. They are likely to be fully fledged by now so they may well be OK.

    Until your cat gets them!

Edit: Isn't YA prudish. It doesn't like c**k!

  4. The best thing to do is leave them. Hopefully the other parent should take care of them.

You can also contact the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) who will be able to advise you further. But you should not try to touch them yourself.

EDIT - Here is the link to the RSPB. Fill in your e-mail address and question. Then press on 'send message':

    http://www.rspb.org.uk/contactus/form.as...

or you can phone them on:

EDIT - My cat used to go after birds but now I put a bell on her when she goes out and she hasn't killed a bird since. They all hear her coming. I take it off when she is indoors. She didn't like it at first but now she's used to it - she knows that if she goes out she has her collar and bell on, and she will wait for me to put it on. : ) Give it a try, even if your cat still kills one, the bell will have saved the lives of lots of other birds.

  5. no :-(

    i love the swifts too

do as mr oddie suggests, and get rid of all the cats!
