One of my cockatiels died yesterday. How do I help the remaining cockatiel deal with this loss?

Yesterday one of my two cockatiels died unexpectedly at the age of 10. :( It was really traumatic for me, and I'm worried for my other cockatiel. They've been together for the majority of their lives, and I'm not sure how she will react once she realizes her best friend isn't coming back. Each night they would cuddle and talk to each other. How can I make my cockatiel feel loved and not lonely without buying her another friend?

you have to give the remaining cockatiel ALOT more attention now that the other one is gone. and if possible try getting her another mate.(even though you dont really want to). just spend more time with her. like trying to tame her(unless she already is) and play with her whenever you get a chance to.

Nobody copes well with losses just aslong as you give it allot of love so it knows that its not alone now. Maybe you can buy it a few more toys like a mirror or something if you havent already got one since it will have more free time now.

give it lots of attention, you can also spoil it by buyying toys and stuff.take it out of the cage or some free time.if trained, you can let him or her sit on you and watch tv.
