I'm hoping someone can tell me why my male cockatiel would pluck feathers off my female cockatiels head. He also plucked some off the back of her neck. I was hoping they would bond. Ive never caught them fighting but apparently he isn't too nice to her when I'm not around.

  1. My birds do the same thing sometimes, too. They're brothers and are prone to sibling rivalry, but I'm not too sure in your case. Has he been aggressive to her or is it that he's preening her feathers?

  2. its because male cockatiels are very dominant. and hes trying to "own"  the female bird. its to show her whos boss.
