  1. Sorry i havnt but you should get him to the vet pronto. I dont think its so bad though. Just dont panic. Panicing always makes everything worse.  Good luck hiope he gets better soon! Just pray for him and it will all be good!

  2. Not only have I heard of it before, but I live it on a daily basis.  My cockapoo, Pepper, has hyper-sensitive skin.  The bumps started showing up when he was very young, they came up under his skin.  He itches alot.  Some will scab up like you said, but others are more like the pimples and will have puss or blood in them.  He gets them on his back, his neck, his head, on the inside of his thigh, and inside his ears.

The doctor told us that the bacteria in his skin is overactive and he has been on anti-biotics, steriods, and benedryl since he was really young.  Recently, our vet told us that we needed to go to a dermatologist.  We were devestated.  He has been on 5 different antibiotics, and on all the steroids he has to clear it up.  He will get close to having it cured, and then he will have another breakout.

We are pretty sure that it is a skin allergy.  We started him on a new diet of a carb and a protien.  We started with rice and hamburger and kept him on that for 2-3 weeks to see if he improved (he did) and then changed to rice and chicken breast.  He had a small breakout after that, so we changed quickly to rice and ground turkey.  He loves it, and is overall doing better.  I groom him every night (a good brushing, check his skin for any new bumps, put ointment on any open sores, clean his face, check his ears, and do any necessary clipping).  He gets a bath once a week, and I use Mane and Tail from walmart as per our groomer.

He isn't allowed to go to the groomer right now, but I have used my resources (our vet, groomer, and the expertise of employees at Petco and Petsmart) to come up with ways to groom him and care for his skin.

I hope this helps and I hope your puppy gets better soon.  What kind is he?

  3. That is such a hard question to answer without seeing them. It could be flea bites, mosquito bites, a rash, etc.  If the dog is not sick, take him to the vet and ask him what he thinks and if they can test the dog to see if it is anything blood related.  If he is sick or acting strange, ask the vet to test him for lyme disease in case it was a tick bite or something.  Don't worry to much until you get to the vet.

  4. It could be flea dermatitis...a common flea allergy. My dogs get them occasional. Kudos to you for keeping a close eye on your pup's skin!only your vet can tell you for sure, but dont worry because it's not going to be anything life threatening like cancer. Most commonly it's caused by an irritant and the solution is to get rid of the irritant. If you are using a topical flea treatment, this can irritate the skin as well. If you are not using a flea treatment, you should just in case your dog has an allergy to flea saliva. Comfortis is the best thing I have found. Ask your vet for it when you go.
