I haven't noticed it happen with any other low energy bulbs. It is a dim flash every 30 seconds or so, it doesn't continue to flash for hours. It's been suggested to me that it's the bulb dispersing the energy build up..... sounds like tosh to me!!! Any ideas ?

  1. It sometimes happens, but it's not supposed to.  All fluorescent lamps - tubes and "energy efficient" bulbs - need a few thousand volts to turn them on and a much lower voltage to keep them going.  This comes from a bit of electronics that comes separately in a tube fitting but is built into an energy efficient bulb.  Yours has a leaky capacitor which means it takes longer to come on and doesn't quite turn off for a few minutes.  Don't worry about it - it'll wear out in about 5 years' time.

  2. probably ghost's (as seen on TV)

  3. Replace it.

  4. Faulty switch or faulty capacitor in light fitting

  5. try unscrew it then rescrew and if that doesn't try swaping bulbs

  6. I think that you may have a ghost.

    Spooooky !

  7. i had this, it was the switch, when i took it off there was a cabon trail across the contacts, this means that power was leaking through when the switch was off... change the switch, worked for me.
