If that is a Yahoo group,

Your friend should sign in to that group.

Near top of page, click "Edit Membership".

Scroll down to bottom of screen and click "Leave Group".

Friend will be asked if he/she is sure he/she wants to leave the group.  Click on "Leave Group".

Friend will be instantly unsubscribed from the group at that point.  

Friend will continue to receive any messages that still remain in the Yahoo email server until all of those are sent out. Then friend will not receive any more from the group.

To leave the list send an e-mail to the group's unsubscribe address which will look something like this: [e-mail]
