One of my friends is eexpecting a baby,she has a girl, but her husband wants a son so bad why do men want sons

For a lot of men, it's an ego thing.  I think they want someone to carry on everything that they think is so awesome about themselves.

every guy is different...some prefer girls, and some boys. Some just accept either one as a blessing, He needs to understand that having a child is one of the greatest blessings bestowed by God, and he needs to accept it and treasure it. But honestly, once the baby is born, and when he holds her for the first time, "a baby boy" would be the last thing on his mind. Goodluck to u all

I think most men dream about having sons to take them out and play footy etc...and do lads things you know? it's like most women want girls because they can do their hair and stuff...it's just human instinct but I'm sure when the baby does arrive the father will love it very much even if it is a girl! :-)

i like boys because guys dont want to deal with doing their little girls hair and makeup and all that. Also girls are more whiny then boys. i rather have a boy because i can play basketball and baseball with them but if i have a girl, theres a good chance shes not interested in sports

I wanted another girl.  We had a girl two boys and we got a third boy.  I love em all and am glad my wife and I could even have children as many can not.

My husband was happy to get a healthy child each time, but he did ask for a son the first time and that's what he got. The next time he wanted a girl and we lucked out and got a girl that time. Your friend's husband isn't going to care whether or not it's a girl or boy once he sees that baby for the first time. Congrats to them.
