I've looked on wikipedia, answers.com, dictionary.com and found nothing! I've looked in those humongous dictionaries at different libraries and not even a hint! I've looked in a number of encyclopedias and to no avail! Please someone for the sake of a person wanting to know one's self... please tell me what Vandis means. Or where it even orginates from. Please. Please. Please!

  1. A few of the immigrants found on ancestry.com came from Greece.

  2. It's both Latin and Greek. My suggestion is that you call a professor of Classical Languages at a college in your area. I can find it in more than 20 documents, but no translation that makes much sense. I also ran it through several translation programs and all it tells me is that it's from the old Latin Vulgate.

  3. I suspect the original spelling could have been Wandis.

    LeWandis : The Wanderer ! ?

    Wandis

    German: Wanderer
