Question:

One of the snaps broke off of my daughter's sleeper and I want to fix it...?

I thought about using a saftely pin, but that would be annoying during changes and I would be afraid of it coming unfastened and poking her. Also, the sleeper was a gift, so I don't know where to find another. This sleeper is so cute I can't bear to toss it out, but the snap that broke was right next to the crotch, so if I don't replace it, she can kick her leg out of the outfit. Any suggestions as to how to fix it?

  1. You don't see velcro because it's scratchy. I would try and buy new snaps and replace them all. They have sew-ons at Jo-Anns or possibly Michaels! Just be very careful to get the sew-on ones because the others are extremely hard to put on and you need a special tool. They also have some non-scratch velcro but it's a little harder to find. If you do go for velcro though, definitely make sure it's the soft stuff!!

  2. There is a tool I believe for some and others you can sew on.

  3. I would go to a local sewing/craft store and get some new snaps and sew a new one on.  Is there something special about it that you can't do that?

  4. DO NOT  use a safety pin.

Replacing those snaps is a real pain in the behind.

You can use a small piece of velcro.  It can be found in most hobby stores and you can find the sticky kind or just sew it on and should work fine.

I've seen some onesies and things with velcro but it is few and far between.  You just got to look for them.
