When the plane lands at the stop is the luggage that is on the plane switched to the other plane? or will you have to wait for it and then get it to the other plane. I know that the carry on luggage will have to be carried to the other plane. First one stop flight since it was cheaper :] please answer with as many details to how the switch will go down. Thank you.

  1. Your bags are tagged to the final destination. However if you are arriving from abroad into the USA or transiting in the USA you will need to clear customs and immigration and take your bags to the connecting flight.

One stop flights usually means you are on the same plane but stop at one airport. In this case your bags will stay on board. You will usually be asked to deplane so be sure to take your boarding pass for re-boarding. Airlines usually allow you to keep your carry-on bags onboard but listen for the announcements. Be sure to be back  at  the gate 15 minutes before scheduled boarding time of the flight. Ask the gate agent before going to the food court,

  2. In northern America, they take care of your luggage for the whole trip and you never see it again.

If you are travelling internationally, you must collect your bags at the first stop in a new country so that customs has the option of investigating the contents.

The term "one stop" usually means that the plane stops at a location, and continues on. You don't normally leave the plane, nor does your luggage. When you change planes it is normally called "a connection". Both you and your luggage change planes.

  3. The checked luggage will be taken care of for you.  You will not handle it  or see it again until you reach your final destination.  You will pick it up in baggage claim.  The only thing that you need to be concerned with are your carry on items and yourself.  Enjoy your trip!

  4. it depends they are usually switched over with out u getting it but it depends on weather its domestic or international

  5. You have to ask when you check in - every airline is different.  If you are flying with the same airline, they may shift your bags for you.  However some economy airlines make you do it yourself (like the Australian company Jetstar).

If you are flying internationally and have to clear customs or immigration at your stop over, you will likely have to get your bags and move them with you.

    Have a good trip.

  6. Your luggage will be directly loaded onto the next aircraft for you. When you check in for your first flight they check the baggage through to your final destination.
