Hi. I'm travelling from Dublin via Asia to Australia. I would like to try and plan my trip to take in an Asian city but not sure which one. I have already been to Bangkok. I am aware that flights fly from bangkok to Sydney directly. Are their any other cities in this region that fly directly to Sydney. Thanks in advance.

P.S. if anybody has any input on any stopovers they made during their australian/round world trip you are more than welcome to suggest them

  1. Kuala Lumpur,Singapore,Hong Kong all have direct flights into Sydney

  2. Well if you book on STA travel you can stop at Colombo, Malaysia, Pakistan and Nepal and still get a direct flight onto Sydney.

  3. You could stop over at Kuala Lumpur, which is a beautiful city, but the airport is a long long way from the city.

Singapore is really lovely - you could see a lot in two or three days (do the tour of the wartime sites, and do go to the zoo, which is the best I have ever been to.  Afternoon tea at Raffles is the "in" thing to do) - but it is quite an expensive place to stay.  Public transport there is fantastically well organised and very cheap, and you could spend two or three days shopping along Orchard street - high class shops of all kinds, but as I say, not particularly cheap.
