To play for his boyhood team who he supported.

The question is why should he stay at man utd, Hes got the league, the champions league and top scorer.

I believe the main reason he should go is what he has said and his attitude....he was an above average player when he arrived, the playing staff and trainers at manu have turned that talent into what he is today, had he gone to Madrid instead of manu who knows if his talent would ever have been fully achieved, madrid have a habit of buying top players, they dont seem to be able to take raw young talent and create world class players, Raul a possible exception....

However, your question asked why he should leave, as a manu supporter  ( from manchester), i believe i can speak for most of them in saying, we dont want people playing for our team who say they want to move to a better club, there is no better club,
