  1. You will be able to enter Australia with a one way ticket, don't worry.  It is possible to extend you working holiday visa once you arrive, so it is common to have a one way ticket.  You may be asked for your bank statement to show proof of funds but this should not be a problem as you have to show proof of funds to obtain your visa in the first place.  The most likely scenario is that you will have your passport stamped and the person stamping will say welcome to australia.  If you are really worried, call the australian embassy and ask them, don't listen to the scaremongering on this site.  have fun.

  2. Here are the official rules relating to First Working Holiday Visa Eligibility taken from the Australian Government DIAC website:

    "Financial requirements

You must have access to sufficient funds to support yourself for the initial stage of your holiday. Generally, AUD5,000 may be regarded as sufficient, but the amount may vary depending on your length of stay and the extent of your travel. You should also have a return or onward ticket or the funds for a fare to depart Australia.

You may be asked to provide evidence. Evidence may include a certified copy of a bank statement and an air ticket out of Australia."

Note that it doesn't necessarily require you to have a return ticket, but that you should be able to demonstrate that you have the funds to pay for one. The link I've included has links to all the info you need to know.

Don't let any of this scare you away from what will be the experience of a lifetime. The reason our government has these rules is that Working Holiday visitors have such a marvellous time that some of them don't want to leave at the end of their time here.
