Hi,

I'm going to Bali by myself for one week at the end of the month and never been there before. Could you tell me what are the best things to do, where to stay (cheap accommodation), what are the best beaches?

I will bring my surf board and I like doing all kinds of sports and activities. Oh and also I like to party too so any good bars or clubs would be appreciated.

Thanks!

  2. Hi Nick,

Welcome to Bali ; Welcome in Indonesia.

    You've no wrong choise.

There're lot of place to be visit in Bali. If you like playi a surf please stay at Kuta area which mostly tourist come and stay.

It's lot of hotel you may stay there ( arrange about USD 30 - 60 / night )

you can do a booking your hotel at www.airasia.com ( please chose option hotel only )

For sport2 activities : you may go to anothe area ( 30 minutes drive ) to Nusa Dua or Benoa.

For details please visit : www.ekutahome.com

They offer some attraction water sport and rent a car. ( I used their service a month ago )

Some activities you can find : Parasailing USD 10, Banana Boat USD 6, Jetski USD 15 ( per 15 minutes ), Diving, Glass Bottom, Snorkling, Dolphin tour, Deep Sea Fishing, Wake board, Diving Tour, Rafting, Trawling Fishing etc. ( For the cost is negotiable )

Rent a car about USD 40 / day ( without gas and driver )

Party, well it's a heaven. Lot of bars ; don't be worry.

    Enjoy your trip...

  3. If you are young and into surfing, then Kuta Beach is the place to be.

    Great waves and great nightlife.

    to visit :

    Ubud,

Central Bali with its rice terraces in Tugalalang,

go to one of the volcanoes

The scenic road from Kuta-->Unbud-->Tugalalang --> volcano is really worth it and hiring a car w/ driver *** guide is the thing to do for a day. It may seem a bit expensive but it is really worth it.

Take a small boat and go to Nusa Lembongan (not sure of the spelling) : beautiful surfing site + this place is supposed to be cursed according to the locals. There are some special ceremonies going on there where they carry a cow up the mountain to offer to the God.

Also, in Ubud, if you can attend a "village cremation" - preparation &/or actual cremations, it is worthwhile as these are considered village undertakings and not family ones unlike in Europe or the USA.

These cremations sites are open to everybody as long as you dress properly and follow certain rules. Really interesting.

    Hope this helps.
