  1. 1. Chichen Itza--Named one of the New World Wonders, this Prehispanic city was the political, religious and military center of the Yucatan Peninsula for centuries.

    2. Xel-Ha--Xel-Ha is a water theme park where interconnected freshwater lagoons combine with salt water streams, producing a unique ecosystem with multitudes of tropical fish

    3. Xcaret--This is a unique ecological theme park with water activities, an archaeological site, a re-created Mayan village and jungle trails.

    4. Sian Ka'an Ecological Reserve--One of the largest protected areas in Mexico, Sian Ka'an has approximately 1.3 million acres of unspoiled natural beauty with unexcavated Mayan ruins, freshwater canals, mangroves, lagoons and inlets.

    5. Playa del Carmen--Once a sleepy fishing-village, Playa del Carmen has grown into a cosmopolitan town, now the largest in the Mayan Riviera.

    6. Cozumel--Mexico's largest island is a short ferry-ride from Playa del Carmen.

    7. Akumal--This fishing village is a good spot to practice windsurfing and snorkeling.

    8. Coba--This is one of the largest Mayan archaeological sites, though only a few of its estimated 6,500 structures have been excavated.

  2. Without a doubt, you have to check out Xcaret.  Hands down one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in. It's like a huge nature park with all kinds of stuff.  They have like an underground river where you basically float and swim underground in these sort of cave like things and it is just unbelievably fun and incredible.

You seriously though MUST go and swim in a cenote.  Basically like thousands of years ago hundreds of comets hit the Yucatan Peninsula.  Their are underground rivers running through the Yucatan so when the comets hit the earth and made giant holes, the holes filled up partway with water from the rivers.  So basially we got like a package so we went to Chichen Itza and we got a package that included stopping by to swim in a cenote.  Picture this:

So basically you come onto this sort of rocky balcony at the entrance and look up and down.  If you look up, then you see a giant hole on the cave ceiling with sunlight streaming in and you can see the jungle above.  From the jungle their are vines that are super long and that stretch downwards.  If you look down you see rocky cave walls and at the bottom there is a sort of cement platform and a wooden ladder at the corner.  There you see a massive pool of water.  The water is pitch black and shockingly but refreshingly cold.  And it tastes good too since it's freshwater.  The water is super deep, it's black since it goes down so much.  And there are little harmless fishes swimming around.  If you look up from the water you get another gorgeous view of the cenote and you can see birds in the cave, flying around the vines, some of which touch the water.  There are teens jumping off the walls of the cliffs into the water and people lying on their backs watching the scenery.........................

So that was basically MY personal experience with the cenote that I saw.  All cenote's are different but I have to say that without a doubt hands-down it was the most beautiful place that I had ever been in and they actually had to like drag me out of there.  I loved it, it was my favorite part of Cancun and I highly recommend it.  My description of it definitely did not do it justice so here are some pictures of some cenotes:

I have to say that I loved Cancun.  I never cry, but I seriously wanted to when we left Cancun.  I didn't want to go back home anymore.

  3. Go to Chichen Itza.  Spend time on the beach.  Go to Cancun City.  relax.  Drink some native drinks.  Speak Spanish.
