One wireless connection, two computers

i have a laptop with a wireless card that i use to connect to the internet, my desk top does not have a wireless card, can i connect to a network through my laptop to my desk top ? i have a wireless router, plenty of ethernet cable, a couple of flash drives, both pcs' have vista home pro

  1. You can do it using internet connection sharing

    If you're using Windows XP, you need to connect the Ethernet cord from the laptop to the desktop, and then go to Connection settings on your laptop. Then, go Properties-->Advanced-->and under Internet Connection Sharing, check the first box.

    If Vista, then go to Network and Sharing Center-->on the side under Tasks, select Manage Network Connections--> select the connection you wish to share--> Properties--> go to the Sharing tab --> then check the first box.


  2. i dont know that you can....but you can buy a wireless card for your desktop.... they arnt that expensive....easy to install...

  3. yea. a wireless router can connect to like 250 computers. (my internet guy said)

  4. The one Pc which dont have wireless card connect it with router using Ethernet cable & use the other one with wireless connection !!
