Oneco Cool to prevail in the Derby Final Day First Race 7 Oclock Open 575
Oneco Cool is the heavy favourite for becoming the first one to make it across the wire in the Derby Final Day First Race 7 Oclock Open 575. The 575 yards flat will be contested by five other competitors at the Shelbourne Park on Thursday, 30th August. Completing the line-up are Night Time Hawk, An Tochar Master, Thats My Gypsy, Farkland Mist and Garryvoe George. The prize money set for the race is €500.
The I. Reilly trained is a lightly raced hound and has not done much else other than winning the races that have been coming his way besides the exception of two in which he ended fourth.
Big Daddy Cool’s son has raced at the Shelbourne Park primarily and tried his luck just once at Dundalk. The very initial experience of the career for the fawn dog was the training sessions.  
The first success of the career for the two-year-old was in the Grade A4 Tote Betting Is Fun & Easy A4 525 Semi-Final on 9th November, 2011 at the Shelbourne Park over 525 yards. The favourite entry got challenged after shooting out from the sixth gate but even then landed the race in 28.83 seconds while winning by the margin of seven lengths.
He was entered as the evening’s favourite for the Grade A4 Tote Betting Is Fun & Easy A4 525 Final on 16th November, 2011 at the Shelbourne Park over 525 yards. He reached the other end of the wire in 29.26 seconds and defeated, Touch Screen, by a head’s margin.
The two-year-old out of, Hondo Lass, bagged the 2012 seasonal debut on 23rd February, 2012 at the Shelbourne Park over 525 yards in the 1890 269 969 A1  525. It took the favourite entry 29.02 seconds to race across the wire as he kept the runner-up, Highview Molly, adrift by head’s margin.
Oneco Cool’s most recent success was in the Trackside Advertising Open 575 on 3rd May, 2012 at the Shelbourne Park over 575 yards. Setting into an early pace and then being the first one to lead got him the race in 31.30 seconds.
His chances for claiming the race tonight are 5 to 2.
