Onion epidermal cells?

Question

A number of strips of onion epidermis, each with a thickness of one layer of cells, are peeled off. How can you determine the length of one of these cells?

Answer 1

Wet mount the specimens and measure the length of several cells using a microscope equipped with a micrometer. Average the length of the cell.
