Question:

Onkyo HT-S800: Best "Listening Mode"?

I just purchased this Reciever/HTiB - and have all 7 speakers hooked up correctly for the 7.1 Dolby Surround sound. I know there isn't hardly anything that played 7.1 yet, but I am playing movies through my PS3. It had the different "Listening Modes" and I don't know which ones to pick. I also setup with the Mic included in the A, B, and C spots. So which listening mode is best for the full surround sound experience? Mainly for Movies :)

  1. Use the synthesized all channel sound for stereo sources, such as CDs.  Use the Dolby Pro Logic for the DVDs.

The speakers are offset in volume because you probably haven't calibrated the volume settings.  See the owners manual to set up the speaker volume properly.  All 7 of them are adjustable, based on distance from your listening chair.
