Hi, this is Glory from Texas. Recently I have received speeding ticket for over speed. I like to complete the course through online. I have gone through few sites and I have observed so many course options there like 6- hours with dismiss ticket, 6-hours with insurance discount, seat belt etc. I am totally confused to choose the option. Which is benefit to me to take? When (mention about the situation individually) these remaining courses are useful?

  1. May be this site can help you

    http://www.sgpak.com

  2. Your best bet is to go to the local Blockbuster and get the take home video.  It's still 6 hours and Usually, your insurance provider will knock off a few dollars for taking the course.  Taking Defensive Driving is good to keep tickets off your record, so definitely do it.

If you do decide to go with an online course, make sure that it's legit.

  3. Here you go:

    http://www.tea.state.tx.us/drive/dsinfo....

It's from the Texas Department of Transportation (and the Texas DMV), and lists all the ways (as well as the accredited schools) where you can go to get your traffic ticket dismissed.  It will even tell you the cost.

(Click on Defensive Driving under Driver Services - that's where I got the link to the Texas Education Agency - Driver Education and Training I listed up top.)

  4. Hi Glory,

There is really only ONE option of class for you to take in order to dismiss your ticket for speeding, there are other classes available, but they do not pertain to you.

www.comedydefensivedriving.com offers a great course and has been certified since 1989, if you live in the Dallas area I *highly* recommend taking a classroom course, if not then the online class would work well for you. Once you complete the course you receive two copies of your certificate in the mail, one is made out to the court and the other can be uses for insurance purposes.

The seatbelt course is only necessary if you get a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt (or not having a passenger wear a seatbelt) and will not help you in this instance at all.

Do not forget to contact the court before taking defensive driving  and tell them that you want to dismiss your ticket by taking defensive driving. If you take the course before you have approval then the certificate you receive will do you no good.

    Hope this helps a bit!!

  5. Call you local dmv office and ask them for a list of approved sites before you do anything........
