I posted a question today and got great answers, re: Sears and an old account (paid off 10 years ago) that needs to be taken off of my credit rating. Question is how do you go online and request it be taken off? Do you go to each credit reporting agency and there is a simple way of making that request?

  1. I know with the credit monitering angency I use they have a dispute center... Most all of them do.

  2. Sears is a bad one to deal with, they NEVER let go, ignore it and it will fall off in time, if you have decent credi otherwise. same with discover, they are the worst, and AMEX

  3. You need to get a report from the three big credit reference agencies to get a real picture.

  4. Do you have a copy of any of the credit reports?

If the debt is still showing, has the collector re-aged the account?  Reaging is illegal.

You might call one of the cra's and ask them what they need from you to remove this off your reports.

  5. I don't think it can be done on line from what I understand you have to send it in writing to the 3 major credit company's with your ID and S.S.#
