Question:

Online Hockey Equipment Stores?

I live in the USA.

I want to know which (if any) of these online stores are reliable and useful, and which I should get my equipment from.

HockeyGiant.com

HockeyMonkey.com

Epuck.com

They all have similar prices with great deals, but are they all really that good?

Give me as much information as you can.

Please answer only if you know of someone's experience or have your own experience with ACTUALLY ORDERING from any of these sites.

I have mostly been looking around hockeygiant.com so far.

  1. go to hockeydeals.com way better price and value

  2. Never used epuck.com, the other two are outstanding.

Recently bought shin pads from HockeyMonkey, I ordered the wrong size.  The exchange was handled the way you would expect it to be handled by walking into a store.

I placed an order for sticks through HockeyGiant, they were apparently out of the sticks I ordered.  Within a day they called to let me know about the problem and worked with me to decide on a replacement pattern.

A fourth option for you is hockeyworld.com.  They are the web version of Peranni's Hockey World, a pro shop known throughout North America.  They have been around as a brick and mortar business longer than many of the new online stores and their reputation is outstanding.  They will have some of the clearance/overstock items carried on the typical discount sites, but you can also get much of the newer model gear as well.

  3. actually, i just ordered a stick from epuck.com.  the stick is awesome, and it was $160 dollars on clearance for 50.  I looked at all of those stores before choosing this stick.

the only problem i had with the order is that they never updated the site that was supposed to tell me order status, so i thought they had not shipped it yet, but it arrived in a timely fashion.

  4. I've always had good service from hockeymonkey.  It helps if you have a larger order ($150plus) because then you save on the shipping.  I've found they generally have good deals, especially on clearance items.  And so far the customer service has been great.

I've also tried totalhockey.net - also pretty good, lower threshold for free shipping ($100), but not as good a selection as hockeymonkey.
