Online gaming from China: NA or EU servers?

I'm going to China for the next three years to teach English and I'm curious about online gaming. I'm going to be playing Warhammer Online but I'm not sure where I'll get the best performance. All my friends are in North America but if the difference is 100 ping for them and 500 for me vs 200-250 for each of us playing on Europe servers they won't mind the slight hit to pings.

Any gamers from China who have an idea of what the best option would be?

You usually get a faster response from American servers than European ones, because there's a lot more bandwidth across the Pacific than there is through Western Asia (in fact, connections to European servers are usually routed through the US for this reason).
