Okay so I checked into it and it is really free so it's like basic schooling but online so then I could get a job and pay for my own car when I can drive then I could drive my brother to and from school so my parents can do what they need to. Anyways my mom thought it sounded good since she read the website but my dad is fascinated with the district and says no I'm not doing online schooling but I really want to so then I can have the one on one tutor and get help with spots I need on in subjects since teachers don't do one on one but he still says no. He doesn't care it's my education and I want to do what I think is best for me. I've been on honor roll since 5th grade and I want to do this to gain more responsibility, etc. Any ways of convincing him? He's so stubborn it's unbelieveable. And no I won't lose social contact because I can still attend the afterschool sports & PE, etc. And there's always the phone!! Help??

  1. I would have said this is a bad idea except for you said that you can still attend after school sports and PE. That makes a HUGE difference. I'm currently doing a persuasive paper against homeschooling, but have discovered it's not bad in all cases. You sound smart and I completely understand where you're coming from and why you want to do this. Convincing your dad will probably be very difficult, though. Make sure your mom is fully for this and have her help you out. Talk to other family members and have them talk to him. Show him that you are responsible and can keep to a schedule on your own. Do things to prove you can handle this kind of schooling. It's not easy.

    what website is this on?

  2. At the end you say "to gain more responsibility, etc." but you start off with the real reason "so then I could get a job and pay for my own car." You may be very smart, but at your age you lack judgment about what is important. Your dad apparently knows you very well and he is completely right. If he is stubborn, that explains why you are. Listen to him.
