i used to be popular at my school and fun and outgoing but i became depressed and i knew i was about to lose friends because i just couldnt be myself so i went to private school (and all of my friends liked me again..) well at private school i barley ever talked & had no friends & neverhung out with any of them.. so i went back to my public school & everyone was welcoming & wanted to be my friend because they thought i was pretty and i used to be popular. i was so used to how i was acting at my private school that it took me most of this year to finally be myself again, but i've lost almost all my friends & potential friends in the process. i don't know what to do anymore.. i think the people i sit with at lunch just let me sit with them because they feel bad for me and we don't ever text or really talk to eachother outside of lunch or walk down to lunch with them.. i can't do this anymore, it has become so hard just because of their first impression of me..

  1. I've been doing online school for two years now and it's great for me because I like working independently and solving problems on my own and working whenever I feel like it. At times I would work at midnight or past midnight into the mornings. It's kind of hard at first for me because doing online school meant I hardly saw my friends. I only saw them during school because after school I liked being by myself. But now and again they'll call up and I'll hang out with them. But I like doing online. I prefer it.

  2. I do online school and love it!

  3. definatley a high school diploma is awesome

  4. It really depends.  If you're looking at homeschooling online so that you don't have to deal with people, that can be a dangerous choice.  After high school, you will have to deal with people.

However, if you want to homeschool online because you enjoy learning independently and you're motivated to do so, then it may be a good choice for you.  It has more to do with your learning style than anything else - do you learn best by having someone teach you directly, or would you rather just get your assignments and go for it?

I think you need to do some serious evaluation of what you're looking for.  If you really do work better independently and need a year or two to get your life back together, then it may be what you need.  However, if you're wanting to do this to run away from things that you feel like you can't deal with, they'll still be there - this will just put them off and (likely) make you feel more isolated.  Please, find someone that you trust and talk this through with them.  If, in the end, you feel that it will give you time to learn at your pace and get things back on track, then go for it.  But weigh your options carefully, especially in light of the fact that you seem to still be dealing with depression.  Whatever choice you make, make it to take care of yourself, not to fall deeper into hiding.
