Online media guide of 2012 FIVB World League launched – Volleyball news
The Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) released the Online Media Guide for 2012 FIVB World League on Wednesday.
The Online Media Guide has many great features but its primary objective is to provide information on all the teams and players that are set to compete in the 23rd edition of the tournament. The International Volleyball Federation has compiled all the information
and key statistics from past editions of the World League competitions in the Online Media Guide. Furthermore, it has the most up-to-date schedule and complete information about fixtures of different teams.
The official Online Media Guide has been released ahead of the start of the competition and scores of the information seekers have already benefitted from it as it is available on the official web portal of FIVB.
The 23rd edition FIVB Men’s Volleyball World League is set to take centre stage on Friday, May 18. A total of sixteen teams from all across the globe will take part in the annual premier volleyball competition. The grid of 16 teams will be divided into four
pools.
Japan, Serbia, Cuba, and Russia will be placed in Pool A, while Pool B will have teams from Poland, Finland, Canada, and Brazil. Likewise, Pool C will comprise of the Italy, United States, France, and South Korea. Argentina, Bulgaria, Germany, and Portugal
will play under the tag of Pool D.
The competition will be opened with the preliminary round-robin, which will cover its length from May 18 to July 1. The preliminary round will be hosted by various countries but the final round will be hosted by Bulgaria. The four pool toppers and best runner
up teams will advance to the final round of the competition.
The President of International Volleyball Federation, Jizhong Wei said, “I wish best of the luck to all of this year’s participants, and I thank in advance all of our organiser, promoters, broadcasters, volunteers and spectators, each of whom makes a vital
contribution to the World League remain the most spectacular men’s volleyball competition in the world year after year.”
