I already checxked my paper craigslist and pretfinder. I want to adopt a large bird (yes I know how to care for them and what it takes because I have had one)

I will not be shipping the bird so it needs to serve maryland.

I will be meeting the bird before I take it home

I don;t need lectures I just need help finding a site that can help me.

  1. try putting an add in the newspaper. there are many people who get large birds then don't know how to take care of them and yet don't know how to get rid of them either and so they end up neglected or abused. try not to get upset with people who want to advise you. no one knows everything so there is always something that you can learn and keep in mind that they have the bird's best interest in mind and so you both have the same goal in mind.

Those were the only breeders I saw on this site who breed large parrots.

    Also try birdbreeders.com

  3. You can put an ad on CL, Hoobly.com, or kijiji.com and tell people what you are looking for and what experience you have and you may be contacted by someone trying to rehome their bird.  There are a lot of people getting rid of large birds due to the cost of up keep and the economy being what it is, so there are some good deals and sometimes when they get to know you, you might even get the bird for free.

Just put it out there looking to adopt macaw, but be specific of what species you are looking for because you need to make sure you get one that fits your personality and lifestyle.
