Online running program?

Question

Does anybody know where i can get a online running program for beginners? Like that I can print off and it'll tell me how to get up to running? Thanks!

these are all great sites but if your looking to get in shaape over summer for cross country or a race or are trying to build up some stamina i have a program that is already to be sent by email to you...five people have requested it and are very happy with it...it has you run 6-7 days a week and is designed for all runners from expert to novice...and the bet part is if you are ever feeling tire on a long easy day then you can take a break w/out it affecting your progress...i have the workouts saved as word docs and it being a full summer program is too extensive to post here...contact me through my answers page if you are interested

Welcome to the world of running, Emily.  I hope you love it as much as most of us do.  Once you get comfortable with running, you will be hooked!!

Your best first source for everything running is http://www.runnersworld.com/ .  And yes, they do have an online training program that you can customize for yourself.  It is called SmartCoach and there is a link to it right on their home page so you don't even have to hunt around for it.

If you ever get concerned that you aren't as fast as you could be, check out John "The Penguin" Bingham columns there too, or on his own web site at http://www.johnbingham.com/ .  He is hilarious and very motivational to new and slow runners.  (I have been running for 25 years so that will tell you whether I am "new" or just permanently "slow"!)
