I'm interested in using an online video storage website to back up home movies. Does anyone use this type of service or have something that they like?

I have a backup system in place, but it's all in my home on my pc. If there's a fire or a flood I'd lose it all. Thanks.

O....I'm looking at Motionbox.com $29 per year gives you unlimited storage. Does anyone have any experience with this site?

  1. If it's just home videos, you could buy an external hard drive for around $100 with anywhere between 250-500GB and store it at work or at a friend's or family member's house.  Maybe keep it in a fire-proof box.  Then you could just update it periodically when you have new footage.

Good quality video files can fill up GBs of storage space.  The online or remote storage services I've heard of that can handle that volume of storage are usually used for mission critical files used by businesses and cost a lot of money.  It'll also take a lot of time to upload/download your files.
